About UsAs both parents and experienced teachers, Bob and Linda are well aware of the challenges facing students today. In high school, Linda was valedictorian and graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a B.S. in elementary education. She taught for six years in Massachusetts and did her graduate work in counseling and psychology. Bob graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University in engineering with graduate study in computer science. In 1999, they both became certified by Academic Associates® to teach their internationally acclaimed reading course and have since taught hundreds of students of all ages to read quickly and easily. Bob has also had phenomenal success as a math and physics tutor with students at all levels up through college calculus. Linda developed a study skills course called “Learning Made Easy” to help middle school students and beyond learn how to work smarter not harder in just 5 hours. In about 3 hours she is also able to help students determine their best career choice areas using Match—one of the most effective career selection assessments available. It was when Bob and Linda’s youngest son was in the middle of third grade with extremely low self esteem reading at beginning first grade level that they decided to home-school both of their sons. After trying several reading “tutors” with discouraging results, they became aware of the Academic Associates® reading course. Their younger son’s reading level quickly jumped to the middle of fourth grade by the end of the program and—for the first time, he started to feel good about himself. After being home-schooled for the next four years, he actually skipped 8th grade to enroll as a freshman at Bear River High School with his brother and earned straight A’s!! |
